Kay Williams M.Ed. CPDT-KA FDM
A career educator, Kay Williams discovered her passion for dogs through fostering retired
racing Greyhounds. Her first Border Collie, Alice, was a therapy dog who worked alongside
Kay at her school, giving unconditional love to children who needed it most. A second Border
Collie, Dawson, who exhibited leash reactivity, was the catalyst for delving into dog training.
Learning strategies that actually made life better for both canine and human changed
everything.
While still teaching in the public school system, Kay studied to be a certified dog trainer. Upon
retirement she established KK9 Dog Training. The transition from teacher of children to
teacher of dogs and their humans was very much a lateral move. Good teaching is always
good teaching. Techniques and best practices learned over decades of experience have
proven to be invaluable in the arena of dog training.
Discovering Family Dog Mediation and LEGS has allowed Kay to integrate her teaching
model into a concise framework. Her mission is to provide coaching and support to enable
families and dogs to coexist in a peaceful and enriched environment.
