Coaching Humans: Through the L.E.G.S. Lens

How do we support the humans when the dog behavior case is only part of the picture? This course explores the often messy, vulnerable, and deeply meaningful work of coaching clients through difficult behavior cases. Viviane Arzoumanian uses the L.E.G.S. framework to show how professionals can gather better information, build authentic relationships, and help clients stay engaged without shame or defensiveness.

Through three case examples, this presentation looks at the human side of behavior work: capacity, emotions, expectations, communication, and the realities that influence whether a plan can actually be followed. Participants will learn how L.E.G.S. can guide not only dog assessment, but client conversations as well, helping professionals meet people where they are while still protecting the welfare of the dogs in their care.
