Building social currency through environmental predictability
How can predictable environments help dogs feel safer, build trust, and engage more fully in their lives? This course explores the role of environmental predictability in building social currency and supporting welfare. Drawing on applied ethology and the L.E.G.S. framework, the presentation looks at how thoughtful environmental design can support natural behaviors, reduce stress, and deepen the relationship between dogs and their people.
Participants will learn how to create spaces and routines that help dogs understand what is happening, what choices are available, and how to access the support they need. The course includes practical ideas for home setups, outdoor adventures, activity zones, and social spaces that encourage exploration, cooperation, and confidence. The goal is to help families and professionals build environments that feel clearer, safer, and more meaningful for the dog.
