Creating Comfort for All: Ideal Environment Set Up for Dog and Cat Homes

How do we create a home environment that supports both dogs and cats without making everyone live in a tiny pressure cooker? This course explores ideal environmental setup for multi-species homes, with attention to the genetic and species-specific needs of both dogs and cats. Many common conflicts can be reduced when the home is arranged with welfare, safety, and predictability in mind.

Participants will learn how dog and cat needs may overlap, where they may conflict, and how simple environmental changes can reduce stress for all species in the home — including the humans. This presentation also looks at introductions, shared spaces, retreat options, feeding areas, movement patterns, and three common problems seen in private behavior consulting. The goal is to help families create homes that support comfort, choice, and better relationships from the start.
