Brief Bio Kendra Rose is the founder of Venus’s Rose Dog Training, LLC, where the Total Welfare of each dog comes first. Her work is grounded in Kim Brophey’s L.E.G.S.® (Learning, Environment, Genetics, Self) framework, centering each dog’s individual ethology before any training plan is developed. Kendra works with families navigating Separation Anxiety, Rescue Transitions, Raising Puppies, Supporting pro-social relationships among neighborhood dogs, Reactivity to Other Dogs, Supporting Senior Dogs, Over-arousal in a variety of contexts, and Long-Line and Loose Leash Walking skills, among many other cases. Her approach prioritizes reducing stress and honoring the dog’s communication and lived experience.
Kendra graduated from Northwest Canine Studies in June 2023 and is a certified Professional Ethical Dog Trainer through the Nordic Education Centre for Ethical Dog Training. In 2025, she earned her certificate in Family Dog Mediation (FDM) and became a Licensed FDM Professional in 2026. She is also a Foundational Postural Analyst through Galen Myotherapy, deepening her understanding of pain and physical influences on behavior. She continues advanced study through Nordic’s Level 4 behavior program and ongoing professional collaboration with trainers worldwide.
Kendra’s journey began in 4-H guide dog puppy raising and later as a certified therapy dog handler with Summit Assistance Dogs, where she worked alongside her dog Sassy for 12 years in a Seattle special education classroom. Now in her 23rd year as a special education teacher, she brings a relational, compassionate lens to her work with both dogs and humans. Her own dog, Venus, deepened her understanding of health challenges, sensitivity, and reactivity — shaping her commitment to seeing the whole dog and centering their welfare first and foremost.
At Venus’s Rose, Kendra listens deeply to your story and your dog’s story. By centering welfare first, families learn to understand their dog’s body language, reduce environmental stressors, and build thoughtful plans that improve quality of life for everyone involved.
