Nancy Schumacher is owner and founder of Best in Behavior Canine Training. Best in Behavior services include helping families chose the right dog for them, welcoming the puppy to their home, teaching the dogs the rules of house and the manners the pup will need to thrive in its new home. Best in Behavior also helps older established family dogs overcome bad habits or behavioral issues that can arise at different stages in a dogs life.

Nancy combines an instinctive understanding of what motivates animals to behave the way they do with patience and a firm results-oriented manner that dogs and owners alike respond to. Her experience training dogs includes her private practice, on-staff trainer at a large NJ Dog board and train facility, volunteer work at the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center and St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center. Her summers in high school and college were spent as a horse trainer at Trumbull Mountain Stables in Shaftsbury, VT. and she has worked as ‘hot walker’ at Belmont Racetrack. Dog training is not a hobby for Nancy - it is the culmination of a lifelong passion. She will approach her work training your dog with the same spirit that guided her years of competitive show horse jumping.
