Sydney Lupton
Sydney worked as a professional dog groomer, dog walker, group dog playcare supervisor and overnight pet sitter before diving into all things dog behavior. In 2014, she received her Honors Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. After graduating from post-secondary, Sydney moved to Vancouver, where she became a foster dog mom for several wonderful pups over the years.
Upon settling in Kimberley, BC, Canada in 2019, she began working as an Animal Care Attendant at a local not-for-profit shelter, reinforcing her dedication to bring compassionate and kind care to the rescue doggos of the Kootenays. While living in Kimberley, Sydney has adopted two rescue dogs both in their senior years who lived our wonderful lives before leaving this world. Sydney's work is dedicated to those dogs who made such an impact on her life. Since leaving her position at the shelter to pursue dog training work, Sydney has begun working closely as a volunteer with a local foster-based rescue in the area. Her focusses in her work with this rescue have been in streamlining the onboarding process for fosters, educating volunteers and the community about doggy needs and welfare markers and assisting in supporting families looking to rehome or surrender a dog. Recently, Sydney has begun studying to write the CCPDT® exam. She currently shares her home with her partner, Clayton, and their senior rescue cat, Freddy. Sydney is honored to be a part of the Sheltering Division and looks forward to the incredible things we will do!
